30 DAYS - 1 AYAH - 1 NAME

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

DAY 22

Your greatest enemy

The Ayah

"Indeed, Shaytan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze."
[Fatir, 35:6]

This Ayah In Your Life

You have an enemy who doesn't sleep. He has one goal: drag you to the Fire with him. He's been at this since Adam. He comes from all angles. To the sinner, he says "keep going, repent later." To the one trying to repent, he says "it's too late, you've gone too far." To the righteous, he makes them admire their own worship. To the one making dua, he fills them with despair. He doesn't care which door he enters — as long as he gets in. Allah is warning you. Take him as an enemy. Because that's exactly what he is.

What The Salaf Said

Al-Qurtubi reported: “One of the Salaf said to his student, “What will you do if Satan entices you to sin?” The student said, “I will fight him!” The elder said, “And if he returns?” The student said, “I will fight him!” The elder said, “And if he returns?” The student said, “I will fight him!” The elder said, “This will take too long. What do you think if you passed by some sheep and its guard dog barked at you and prevented you from crossing? What would you do?” The student said, “I would endure and renew my efforts.” The elder said, “This would take too long. Rather, seek help from the owner of the sheep and He will suffice you.”

Tafsir al Qurtubi

Action

Say bismillah before you eat and before you enter your home. The Prophet ﷺ said when you do this, Shaytan cannot enter your house or share your food.

Reflect

He's planning your destruction. What's your plan?

AL-GHAFOOR

The Oft-Forgiving

"Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
[Az-Zumar, 39:53]

The Meaning

  • He has always forgiven sins. He will always forgive sins. He accepts the repentance of everyone who returns.

  • He covers the sins of His servants. He doesn't expose you to His creation. Your secret stays between you and Him.

  • He opened the door of hope for those who ran far from Him. Even those drowning in major sins — the door is still open.

Al-Ghafoor In Your Life

  • You sinned and no one found out. That was Al-Ghafoor covering you. He could have exposed you. He didn't.

  • You think your sins are too many or too big. Allah said He forgives all sins. All. Don't argue with Him.

  • Every time you repent, He forgives. You fall again, repent again — He forgives again. He never gets tired of forgiving. Don't get tired of asking.

How You Live Differently

  • When you sin, repent before you sleep. Even when you keep falling into the same sin — keep repenting. He never tires of forgiving.

  • Never tell yourself "I've gone too far." That's shaytan trying to lock a door that Al-Ghafoor left wide open. Don't let him.

  • Cover the faults of others the way Al-Ghafoor covers yours. Don't expose people. Don't spread their sins.

WORTH YOUR TIME

May Allah soften our hearts and make us among those who remember Him,
