DAY 25
The enjoyment of delusion
The Ayah
"Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children — like the example of a rain whose resulting plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes scattered debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion."
[Al-Hadid, 57:20]
This Ayah In Your Life
A mirage. An illusion. That's dunya. Allah calls it "the enjoyment of delusion." Amusement that distracts you. Decoration that impresses no one in the grave. Boasting about things you'll leave behind. Competing for what turns to dust. Rain falls, crops grow green, everyone admires them — then they dry up and blow away. That's everything here. The money. The job. The followers. The house. You're either chasing it or showing it off. And then it's gone. You leave it or it leaves you. The only thing waiting for you is what you sent ahead.
What The Salaf Said
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler."
The Prophet ﷺ also said: "If this world was worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not have given a disbeliever a single sip of water from it."
Action
Look at your day. Your time. Your energy. Where is most of it going — toward something that turns to dust, or toward something that lasts forever?
Reflect
What are you chasing and stressing you out that won't matter in your grave?
AS-SALAM
The Source of Peace, The Flawless
"O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is peace."
[Sahih Muslim]
The Meaning
Free from every flaw. Free from every defect. There is nothing wrong with Him.
His life is free from death and sleep. His power is free from tiredness and weakness. His words are free from lies.
His decree is free from injustice. His legislation is free from contradiction. He is perfect — and He is the source of all peace.
As-Salam In Your Life
The anxiety in your chest, the chaos in your life — peace doesn't come from fixing your circumstances. It comes from As-Salam.
You chase peace in money, relationships, status. They give you moments, not peace. Real peace has one source.
His decree has no injustice in it. When life feels unfair, remember — As-Salam doesn't wrong anyone. There's something you're not seeing.
How You Live Differently
After every salah, say "Allahumma antas-Salam wa minkas-salam." The Prophet ﷺ said it. Make it your habit.
Stop looking for peace in places that can't give it. Money runs out. People leave. Only As-Salam gives peace that stays.
When your heart is restless, turn to As-Salam. Not your phone. Not distractions. Him. He's the only source.
